A Review - Urban Decay Super-Saturated Lip Colour in Crush

House Keeping – all products below have been purchased with my own money and I am not in any way shape or form getting paid for this review. All opinions are my own!!!

Hey Beautiful People

I got this Super Saturated lip colour In Crush in the mail a few weeks ago and I've fallen in love, Sadly for most international ladies and gents Urban Decay is not available However the answer to our dilemma is a little UK company called beautybay.com they have a range of products not avaiable out of the USA or the UK and the shipping is free world wide for one lip colour it is $21.01 AUS which is very similar to the USA prices. Beauty bay ship quickly well i normally recieve an order withing 2-3 weeks.

Crush is a beautiful in-your-face Pink it applys smoothly and is very pigmented, during application there is minimal tugging. For the formula its self it is very hydrating my lips did not feel dry and i was left with a pretty shine. There is a faint hint of scent I cant pick it quite it smells slightly sweet I want to say a hint of vanilla?

The downside to this amazing product is that its not a twist up product so when you run out you have to sharpen. which isnt a issue if you have a sharpener near by however i dont keep one on hand most of the time haha.

This product can stand a reasonable about of heat I kept it in my pocket while at work for touch ups the formula didnt go 'gooey' which is a bonus. Would i recomment this product a big YES i cant wait to get my hands on more as I do I will be sure to blog about them ;)

Whats your fave way to apply lip colour? direct from the tube, by brush, finger etc

Xoxo

Final thoughts: This is a great product easy to re-apply and carry around the not so great things is because its a pencil you only have limited prodcut avaiable (well unless you carry around a sharpener) overal highly pigmented with lasting power.

Beauty Buzz - L'Oreal to buy Urban Decay

Hey ya'll

so if you don't know the beauty world is abuzz at the moment with L'Oreal's announcement to buy Urban Decay now I have been scouring the L'Oreal web pages looking for a official press release I cannot find a official release on any of the L'Oreal pages (if any of you know leave the link in the comments below ;p) but I have taken this from a article written by the The Guardian though if you google  L'Oreal to buy Urban Decay you will find a slew of information.
French beauty giant L'Oréal is attempting to raise its street cred with the acquisition of edgy makeup brand Urban Decay.

The financial details were not disclosed but it is thought L'Oréal paid $300-400m (£187-250m) for the California-based company, which is owned by private-equity firm Castanea Partners.

Urban Decay crashed on to the beauty scene in the mid-90s with eye-catching packaging and products with names like Stray Dog, an ash-brown eye-shadow, and the pale purple Asphyxia.

The deal will give L'Oréal another entry into the fast-growing area of specialist brands, which it says represents 44% of the luxury makeup market in the US.

Nicolas Hieronimus, the L'Oréal Luxe president, said: "It is the makeup specialist we needed to fully satisfy young women in search of playful colours and inspiration, at an accessible price point."

Urban Decay makeup is sold through specialist retailers, such as Sephora, or online shops, but this deal will extend its reach across the globe.

Tim Warner, the general manager of Urban Decay, said: "L'Oréal's strong innovation capabilities and presence in every channel of distribution will enable Urban Decay to reach its full potential in the marketplace."

French conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton bought Urban Decay in 2000, selling it to private equity three years later

So the big controversy is that Urban Decay is a recognised Cruelty free company certified with the leaping bunny symbol... A symbol that they nearly lost early this year when they announced they would be selling their products in China where it is required by law that all cosmetic products are tested on animals.... Need less to say there was a massive back lash from the beauty world and Urban decay quickly rescinded the idea Urban decay have release a short statement

"Though our ownership is changing, our policies are not. We just spoke to both the CCIC and PETA, and will keep our cruelty-free bunny icons. Urban Decay is staying cruelty-free and proud.”

And while Urban Decay are against animal testing L'Oreal not so much there is much questioning if L'Oreal will attempt to have Urban Decay released in China (therefore having products tested on animals) or if L'Oreal will allow Urban Decay to stay true to their creed.

I am going to be veryinterested to see where this goes a lot of people have already claimed that they will now no longer support Urban Decay as they dont want to support a Non-curilty free 3rd party the real question is going to be will Urban Decay be able to stand being in a negative light once again? and will they become TOO main stream taking away form their unique flare? These questions will deffinetly be answered in time I am sure!

Another thing I will be interested to see will be if L'Oreal will allow Urban Decay into Australia to set an attraction for the younger generation and if so will be become a 'everywhere department store' brand like we see L'Oreal here in Australia? If so that would be a big boost for L'Oreal as here in Oz we don't have really 'fun, young' brands...

Whats your opinion on the takeover?

Xoxo

Tick Tock Cosmetics IESB - Milky Way Primer Vs UDPP Primer

Hey all
Sooo I have been asked a lot about eye primer Vs Bases and what I personally use. Firstly I feel the need to outline the basic difference between eye primer and a coloured base. (NOTE: these are my own opinions your own exp may be different to my own)

Eye Primer – Is a product which places a layer between the eye lid and shadows to help prevent creasing VITAL for people with oily lids (like me) Eye Primer can also boots eye shadow colour.

Coloured Base – are a cream coloured product which ranges from white to black and everything in between, GENERALLY coloured bases will crease if they are worn by themselves (the only expetion would be for people with REALLY dry eyelids) but Coloured bases generally hold up well over a primer.
OK so now that’s all done I PERSONALLY have mega-super oily lids and I NEED primer to live (well at lease look pretty haha) I use Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original and THEN put my coloured base on top. But for the sake of this experiment I have UDPP on my LEFT eye only (with Tick Tock Infinity Eye Shadow base in Milky way on top) on my RIGHT eye I have NO primer JUST Tick Tock Infinity Eye Shadow base in Milky way. I have put Tick Tock Cosmetics shadow in Eleventh Hour over both lids (over a thin layer of Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy). The rest of my makeup routine was kept the same on BOTH sides.

You will have to excuse the difference in pictures I had to work today and my normal camera is HUGE so I used my little going out camera. PLEASE feel free to click on the pic to enlarge it =)

So this first photo was taken at 9am Saturday 21/7/12 taken with a flash indoors =)

This Pic was taken at 10:00 am as you can see no signs of creasing yet *fist pump*

This Photo was taken at 11:00 Am there is on the NON-primer side a TINY little but of crease on the inner corner but sometimes that happens to me even WITH a primer.

These photo was taken at 1300 (or 1pm) (I was heading to work I’m a nurse) as you can see there is no additional creasing to the inner corner  =) however slight creasing noted in the outter V area =/ (not very noticeable however unless you are looking for it)

Att 1500 (3pm) as you can see there are some slightly more fine creasing happening on the inner corner of the TT:C only side.

1800 (6pm) the UDPP side has stayed relatively the same not many changes at this time, the TT:C side now has more creasing on the inner corner, which is more noticeable becoming patchy in some areas extending towards the middle of the lid, some further creasing in outer V.

2030 (orr 8:30 pm) sooo this isn’t a photo as I was too busy however I did steal a second to look in a mirror so on the UDPP side I can see some MINOR creasing on the TT:C only side I see further inner corner (now larger then my pinkie finger (less than 1cm) and outer V creasing.

OK so LASTTTTT photo this was taken after I finished work at 2230 (10:30pm) as you can see on the Base only side these is a lot of creasing and patchy-ness focusing mainly on the inner corner however it DOES extend though the entire lid compared to the UDPP + TT:C Base which only has minor creasing which you would expect after 13+ hrs.

Conclusion
Soo I was actually REALLY impressed I didn’t think that the Base only eye would actually last as long as it has (due to my redonklusly oily lids) I think that Tick Tock Infinity Eye Shadow Base in Milky way REALLY stood up well against a ‘brand name’ product over 13 hrs and that was ALL the creaseing (8 hrs before any real creasing occured) I did not touch up or TOUCH my eyes at all I would most DEFF recommend this product to any and all make up lovers =) I will do a similar test with TT:C IESB in Black hole another time =) over all i am SUPER stoaked TT:C stood strong against my oily lids which hate everything so happy u all NEEEED to try it out and it costs less then $5 per jar a BARGING hurry up and get yours

90 Day Challenge - Day 30

sooo today i SMS (Shopped My Stash) and pulled out my Urban Decay 15 yr palette now sadly i have neglected this palette a LOT and its a shame as it has REALLLLLY pretty colours this is a little photo heavy to show the diff colours of the shadow i WAS dissapointed with OMEN as the colour looks VERY patchy and i had some trouble workign with it to get a even coverage next time i may need to use a coloured base dunno but even in the photos it looks EXTREAMLY sheer =/
so i decided to use that and 2 new products that the FANTABOUSE Miss Mo Love picked up and sent me =) the new MAC Heroine lipstick and Modern Mandarin Blush =)

i am also testing out a new foundation MUFE mat Velvet + so yeahhh lol enjoy the pics
