Beauty Buzz - 2013 Beauty Trends

So with 2013 here the question we are all asking is what are going to be the beauty trends for this year?!?!

According to Harpers Bazaar strong full eye brows are totally in this year which it Fab as they make faces appear youthful. It also means that for younger girls the need to start plucking, waxing etc is put off for a little longer (also for us season vets we can get away with slightly longer salon time)

Neutral nails also seem to be a possibility for a big trend in 2013 so far new nail collection are a lot of neutral/pale/pastel colours a lot of photos I have seen very sheer/neutral colours are present. Try placing a light tan or a pale pink on those cute piggies ;)

Pantone announced their colour of the year  for 2013  and its emerald! I am a HUGE green fan so I was very pleased. Green is SUCH a versatile colour it suits so many skin tones/colours etc. I am very fond of using greens on clients even if its very subtle. A quick way to incorporate green into your day to day look (in a wearable way) if your not like me and happy to slather colour over your face use a green eye liner for a pop of colour or as a lower lash colour.

And Finally onto Lips according to MAC browns of all shades from warm to cool shades, hot pinks and reds are going to be big for 2013 sadly the darker colours are taking a back seat in this years predictions. The choice finish for 2013 is Matte so be well armed with lip scrubs and plenty of lip balm to keep your pouts soft and flake free. Me personally I exfoliate every second night and slather a thick layer of lip balm before bed. I also carry a lip balm with me everywhere I go for touch ups.
A cheep DIY lip scrub is to use equal parts of sugar, honey and olive oil blend well and scrub scrub scrub =)

Here is another very quick Chinovi Cosmetics review I found a few sample baggies around that were complementary samples so as always When ordering you have 4 options all in USD value ~ Sample bag - $1.00, Clamshell -$1.25, Full Size Jar w/out sifter - $4.75 and Full Size Jar W/ Sifter - $5.00
Sample Bags and Clamshells look to have about 1/4 tsp of product good for quite a few uses. Full Sized jars average around 1.2 g of product.

The two new colours I am reviewing are Ireland and Cool Runnings as with all Chinovi Cosmetics the pigments are very smooth and blend well and are all pigmented. Now onto swatches =)

Final thoughts: These colours are very pigmented, very smooth and easy to apply. As with all loose shadows they are more vibrant over a sticky base such as Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy. The samples are very genrous sizes loads of product for 20+ uses. A great way to try out a buch of colours at a low cost.

Overall Rating: A-

Let's talk liners spacifically MATTE liners so Inglot have them! they retail at $25 AUS for a HUGE pot 5.5g or 19 US oz thats a whole lot of liner! As with all Inglot nothing has names just numbers for today this is #87 a STUNNING teal blue. The Liner is evtreamly pigmented the swatches were just one swipe. There is no 'skipping' in colour which is very probable when dealing with coloured liners.

This is my first Inglot liner and I was really supriesed once this in on the lid it SETS! to remove this it takes a little work I most defiently dont recommend using these gel liners as a eye shadow base =p

I did find however this shade DOSE have the potiential to stain the lid as do so many blue hues, however use of a primer ect dose help to reduce the stain potential.

onto the BAD... well not so bad really however I have had this liner about 1-2 months and you can see that it is starting to dry out slightly around the edges however it is still usable.

The liner itself is EXTREAMLY smooth to use it dosnt tug on the lid at all over all I really like this product and it is worth the $25 AUS.

Final thoughts: you clearly get value for money with this product 5.5g is a HUGE amount of product I cant see myself using the entiretly of the product before it dries out. The colour selection is huge as well i LOVE how Inglot has a wide range and a huge Matte collection. The liner is Smooth and extreamly pigmented.

So here is a very quick review on the Chinovi Cosmetics 2012 Halloween collection and YES it is STILL available!! now for a discounted price =) you can pick this baby up for $20USD for the FULL sized collection -----> Here and YES I am enabling you all ;)

 

So Basically this collection was born from Chinovi Owner Vanessa's love of the movie Hocus Pocus which she has translated rather well into a shadow collection =) 

 

As with all Chinovi collections the lable reflects the theme for this collection the lable has a cute little christmas tree. When ordering you have 4 options all in USD value ~ Sample bag - $1.00, Clamshell -$1.25, Full Size Jar w/out sifter - $4.75 and Full Size Jar W/ Sifter - $5.00
Sample Bags and Clamshells look to have about 1/4 tsp of product good for quite a few uses. Full Sized jars average around 1.2 g of product. This Collection also has unique labelling =) a nice added touch.

 

Chinovi also list on each shade whether its lip safe or vegan making it easy to choose select shades depending on your intention of use.

 

I feel this collection dose capture the essence of the movie and the colours suit perfectly for a Halloween theme however are also versatile enough to be used in everyday looks.

Final thoughts: I feel the collection is very well rounded and quite pigmented, the shades are quite smooth and don't feel gritty on the eye. There are some very versatile shades also all of the shades in this collection would be fantastic to use in a smokey eye.

Lets take a look a Geek Chic Cosmetics Joy Stick in Hipster Ariel today shall we? great idea ^_^

OK so lets talk lippys first now I KNOW we ALL own at least one pink,red,orange and nude lippy but not many of us wear bright lippys it seems to be a status quo thing which sucks coz Hipster Ariel is an AMAZING opaque metallic blue lipstick. For being a bold colour Hipster Ariel is not drying on the lip as it has moisturizing Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E in its formula, the Joystick is also mint flavoured which I personally find nice =)

 

The overall shape of the joystick isnt ideal for a perfect application in my opinion Hipster ariel is BEST applied with a lip brush (whick i have done in the lip swatches below). If you like Hipster Ariel you can purchase it on the Geek Chic Cosmetics webstore for $5.99 USD.

Final thoughts:  Hipster Ariel is a opaque metallic blue shade which applys smoothly i find best applied with a lip brush to get into the fine lines on the lips. This shade will wear quite quickly if you eat and drink.

Soooo here we are with a review on Chinovi Cosmetics, Chinovi is a relatively new company to the Indy world however the products and customer service is amazing! Chinovi is Cruelty free and each individual listing states whether the product is Vegan or non-vegan which is very important to some individuals.  I have made several orders all which have arrived to Australia in a timely manner. The colours are very pigmented all blend smoothly 'butter-y' to the feel. Sample Sizes are generous with plenty of product.

When ordering you have 4 options all in USD value ~ Sample bag - $1.00, Clamshell -$1.25, Full Size Jar w/out sifter - $4.75 and Full Size Jar W/ Sifter - $5.00

Final thoughts: Colours very pigmented, smooth to apply sample sizes are good, all items were sent out well within the TAT, and arrived in Australia within around 2-3 weeks.
