Hey Beautiful People

Lets look are some lippy ;) I am here to talk to you about the Geek Chic Joystick in Sweet Transvestite. This shade has gone under some re-formulation to make it smoother and extra pigmented. Sweet Transvestite is not drying on the lip as it has moisturizing Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E in its formula, the Joystick is also mint flavoured which I personally find nice =)

The overall shape of the joystick isn't ideal for a perfect application in my opinion Sweet Transvestite BEST applied with a lip brush (which I have done in the lip swatches below). If you like Sweet Transvestite you can purchase it on the Geek Chic Cosmetics web store for $5.99 USD.

The colour wore fairly well lasting around 3-4 hours the main fading was after eating so I was fairly happy. The biggest down fall for the GCC Joysticks is that they are not a item you can carry around in your pocket as they melt fairly easily.

I would repurchase this colour again when it runs out.

Product description
GCC Description - gorgeous blackened, orange leaning burgundy with flashes of fiery orange, copper, and red interferences within the deep red base
My Description - Deep Burgundy with orange/red undertones and flashed of copper

Whats your favourite lipstick shade?

Final thoughts:  This shade is one of the more 'firm' GCC Joysticks I have tried it applies fairly well out of the tube though for optimum performance a lip brush is recommended. ST is very pigmented and non drying on the lips. This shade WILL stick to any dry/flaky areas on the lips so ensure they are exfoliated and moisturized.

Hello Beautiful People

I am here to talk about one of my favourite  shadows MAC Extra Dimension Shadow in Zestful!
I very rarely these days buy 'backups' but boy oh boy did I buy a back up of this shadow!

This shade is a iridescent lime colour that seems to glow even in the worst of lighting as you can see in the last photo.

This was apart of the In Extra Dimension collection which was released a while ago though the date escapes me however I have checked both the Australian and USA MAC webstore and this shade is still available ($51 AUD or $21 UDS for 2g of shadow)

Onto colour specs so Zestful is a some what 'difficult' shade to work with meaning it requires a patting motion for full opaqueness which is a shame its not so opaque with one pass though it is defiantly a buildable shade. It is however beautiful as a wash of colour to give a glow to the eye lid or over another shade.

I found this shade preforms best over a base for it to be completely opaque my favourite base is Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide on eyeliner in Freak as it also has iridescent properties and is a similar shade however a White base works as well.

This shade is very finely milled and blends out well with nil tugging on the lid, it is a 'soft' shadow so and I have a feeling it would be very easy to shatter if you accidently dropped it. I am a HUGE de-potter but I haven't de-potted this shadow for fear that it would shatter quite easily.

Over all Zestful has become a Holy Grail item for me I kinda wish I picked up some of the other shades but you never know =)

What was the last 'backup' item you purchased

Final thoughts: This is one of my all time favourite HG eye shadows I find this shade extremely versatile and often find myself reaching for it I haven't found another shade that is quite as iridescent as Zestful this shade for optimal POP is best used over a base.

A Review - Sugarpill Tiara & Paper doll Loose Eyeshadow

Hello Beautiful People

Lets look at some sugar pill shall we? please note that this blog post still has the OLD style swatches apologies I am working through my stash of swatch pictures haha.

Sugarpill is a brand most people are aware of known for bright, bold colours and some funky lashes I am particularly fond of their loose pigments so I finally ordered the last 2 needed to complete my collection!

The nitty gritty on SP they retail for $12 USD now before you have a minor heart attack keep in mind that for that cost you are getting 4.5g of product that's more then enough for you, your sister and a cousin!!! (NOTE: 4.5g by wt so sometimes the jar may look a little 'emptier' then another due to pigment settling) Each SP listing states wether the item is vegan or not which is handy for all my vegan readers both paperdoll and tiara are vegan! Both shades are very finely milled there isn't any traces of unblended micas the shades apply well and are bendable.

Each individual listing has a list of ingredients. The only negative thing I have to say is it seems like the stock photos are slightly over saturated but they arnt that far off of being accurate. Paperdoll is the shade that seems less accurate to its description to me it leans more violet which you will see in swatches below.

Tiara
Sugarpill Description - Brilliant, highly-reflective metallic silver with maximum shock value shine. The micro-fine particles are super tiny, so this looks amazing sprinkled all over as body shimmer too
My Description - A metallic silver

Paperdoll
Sugarpill Description - Lovely lavender with dazzling shimmer and sparkle.
My Description - A light violet colour with silver glitter

Would I repurchase yes I would I love Sugarpill cosmetics

What's you favourite shade in the Sugarpill collection?

Final thoughts: Both shades are highly pigmented and very finely milled nil issues with unblended micas. Paperdoll was the most disappointing leaning more violet then lavender. The colours as with most loose pigments preform BETTER over a sticky base. Fast TAT and arrival to Australia

A Review - The Chequered Lily Cosmetics

House Keeping – all products below have been purchased with my own money and I am not in any way shape or form getting paid for this review. All opinions are my own!!!

Hey Beautiful People
I have a new company to look at today! Today I have 5 of the loose shadows from The  Chequered Lily Cosmetics. I purchased a long time ago from this company and after a long time I  finally took the plunge I purchased a few individual shades and a blogger pack to review. I couldn't decide what shades I wanted to try out so I requested the top sellers.

All my items were sent out well within the stated TAT 5-7 days and arrived on my door step around 2 weeks later good timing for international shipping. The Etsy store is quite easy to navigate my only gripe (and its a small one) is that on the individual listing there is a little TOO much text but like I said that is a minor issue.

The pigment shades themselves are well milled and smooth there were no unwanted lumps or unblended mica's. They applied well onto the lid especially when pressed into a sticky base. I didnt have any really issues with the shades except Black Valentine was slightly chalky to work with it required a little TLC when swatching this is a colour best dabbed on rather then swipped and Peony was a little sheer it required a couple of swipes for the full effect.

Pricing for a full size Jar which hold 1 gram of product is $6.80 AUD and for a set of 10 samples there is no official amount listed but i would estimate to just under 1/4th of a tsp per sample it costs $5.75 AUD. Shipping is on the higher scale of indy however with the recent price increases i do believe this will be base line fee's soon. Each listing has a complete ingredients list and states whether vegan or not along with lip safe/not safe.

A cool little side note The Labyrinth & Cursed Treasure are similar to a couple of MAC pigments Blue Brown and Old Gold not exact dupes mind you but they are similar in my opinion

The big question is would I re-purchase again? Probably not the colours swatched below as I feel I have some dupes already however I am deffinetly planning of ordering more colours from the Chequered Lily Cosmetics.

A Review - Fyrinnae Endangered 2013 collection

House Keeping – all products below have been purchased with my own money and I am not in any way shape or form getting paid for this review. All opinions are my own!!!

Please Click on the photos to see an enlarged picture =)

NOTE - this is a new method of swatching I am trialing all shadows are swatched over Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy over bare skin unless otherwise stated please leave feedback on what you think about the new swatching method.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~{@
Hey Beautiful People
Lets look at a amazing collection from Fyrinnae! Now it is NO secret I have huge love for this company their Pixie Epoxy is a life changes in my opinion! And a few months ago they released a new collection of shades inspired by endangered animals called the Endangered 2013 collection probably not the most creative of names but its very true to the collection.
OK so before we dash into this collection some info Fyrinnae are a USA based indy company when you link to their main page most people notice the LONG TAT posted I can HONESTLY say I have never had to wait that long EVER and that is including international shipping times to Australia.
Shipping and handling rates are very reasonable especially considering the recent increase in international shipping. The Customer service is amazing and each shadow has its own ingredients listing. As I am reviewing the entire collection I am going to talk about price in each section to avoid confusion.
Eyeshadow
You can purchase full size shadow jars (of about 3 grams of product) for  $6.25 AUD and a Mini sample (about 1/3 tsp  or 1/4th tsp depending on the shade) for between $2.25- $2.50 AUD. In the photos below I only ordered the Mini sizes.
As you can see the mini jars have a tonne of product Fyrinnae estimate there is enough product for 30-40+ uses and I would be willing to bet they are right, and for the price you cant complain.
All shades are well milled and apply very smoothly. Pigmentation as with almost all Fyrinnae shades is spot on. Though I fell as though I need a disclaimer all loose shadows are more vibrant and adhere better (less fallout) over some form of sticky base (I personally do Urban decay primer potion with Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy on top)
All photos were taken outside in natural light.
Ravishing Red Wolf
Fyrinnae's Description - Picture is deceiving! This shade is a cool pink-wine over soft black to enhance the color, but applied wet or over a sticky base (and many primers), will appear light, vibrant metallic purple.
My Description - A stunning deep port colour with a metallic finish
Feisty Fennec Fox
Fyrinnae's Description - Light cool taupe finished with a pale gold satiny highlight.
My Description - A stunning taupe with a lean to green and a soft gold duo chrome
Dapper Mr Shark
Fyrinnae's Description - Bright sparkling blue, a little deeper than royal, but brighter than sapphire.
(honestly, with several species of sharks being endangered, we couldn't pick just one)
My Description - A vibrant almost Royal blue
Enchanting Otters
Fyrinnae's Description - Lush shimmering emerald green, filled with a rainbow of sparkle. Otters are quite enchanting, are they not?  Not lip-safe.
My Description - A Emerald green with a slight blue base loaded with multi-coloured glitter
Sloth Snuggles
Fyrinnae's Description - Deep to medium chocolate brown graced with a satiny mauve highlight. Not as pink as it appears here.
My Description - A reddish/chocolate brown with a Mauve shift
Highlighter
Onto the Highlighter basic info first Fyrinnae Highlighters retail for a full sized 4g jar $6.50 AUS and a mini - (limit 1 jar per order) is $1.50 AUD for roughly 1/3 tsp.
This Highlighter is well milled its smooth and blends out well. Personally I dont see this working well as a highligh colour for most people as the mauve tones do stand out even well blened as you can see in the swatches. However I LOVE this shade as a eyeshadow (i have swatched it over PE as well) it is a fantastic colour to use in a purple smokey eye, alternetivly this would also work well as a sheer blush.
As with all Fyrinnae shades this items has its own ingredients lits which I love
Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides
!!!RANDOM FACT!!!
Some penguins blush! If overheated, they develop a temporary pink hue on their faces and wings.
Powder Highlighter: Penguin
Fyrinnae's Description - Not a blush, but a light, satiny mauve contour/highlight. Transparent enough to work on pale (applied lightly) to dark skin, and it doesn't apply with heavy lavender tones.
My Description - A Mauve shade that is builable.
Lip Lustre
Finally onto the Lip Lusters, as with most Fyrinnae products there is the option for full sized or samples. A Full Sized 10mL lip luster retail at $7.00 AUD and the Sample sise retails at $2.00 AUD for a 3 mL tube. Fyrinnae Lip Lusters apply like a thick velvet lip gloss and then dry down I personallt recommend to ensure your lips are well hydrated and exfoliated prior to using these as I found the formula while long lasting is very drying and will cling to any flaky patches on you lips. Wear time on these I found i would get an average 3-4 hrs with these shade.
Lip Lustre: Ocelot
Fyrinnae's Description - Matte warm dusty-rose pink, very close to the soft pink of an Ocelot kitten's paw pads and nose. Slightly lighter than it looks here
My Description - A Matte Antique rose/Mauve colour leaning warm.
.
Lip Lustre: Pygmy Hippo
Fyrinnae's Description  -Matte medium rosey plum shade, not quite mauve. Neutral-warm. If you wonder about the name, just search Google images for "Pygmy hippopotamus baby". It's not that the shade is an exact match for their little pink undersides, but they're simply rather adorable beings.
My Description - A Matte pink/plum shade meaning towards cooler tones
Over all I LOVE this collection if I had to pic a few items to get i would recommend Feisty Fennec Fox, Enchanting Otters and Penguin Blush!
Whats you favrouite endanged animal?
A Review - Femme Fatale Rebel Chroma Glow Blush
House Keeping – all products below have been purchased with my own money and I am not in any way shape or form getting paid for this review. All opinions are my own!!!
Please Click on the photos to see an enlarged picture =)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~{@

Hey Beautiful People

 Today we are looking at a review of a Australian company Femme Fatale! I have done reviews of Femme Fatale eye shadows previously but not their blushes so here we go!

Femme Fatale ship world wide and shipping is fairly on par with most international shipping however ALL international shipping has increased over the last few months so please keep that in mind!
Pricing for Femme Fatale shades is very affordable for a sample baggie you get 1/8 tspn for $1.10 AUD and a Full Size 10g jar with sifter is  $8.25 AUD (though trush me the baggie will last you AGES if oyu want to try out a bunch of shades) This Blush is finely milled and apples easily to the skin .

One of the things I do first off when purchasing from a company is to look for a ingredients list and Femme Fatale do not disappoint each listing has a separate list below is Rebel's
INGREDIENTS: Mica, Magnesium Stearate, Iron Oxide (77491), Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide (778161), Manganese Violet (Pigment Violet #16).

The jar also has a list on its label so bonus points there. For any Vegans out there is beautiful pink blush IS a vegan shade. Rebel besides being a blush is also Eye and lip safe making it a very diverse shade.

Femme Fatale also have a few recommendations for their products
  • Keep well sealed in cool environment
  • 1 year shelf life
  • To avoid bacterial contamination do not share FFC products with other people.

  •  I chose to do 2 swatches one over bare skin and another over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy just in case you wanted to see what it looked like as a shadow. Femme Fatale Chroma Glow Blushes as the name suggests do have a slight 'glow' like duo-chrome effect and for those of us cursed with oily skin this MAY not be the best as it dost leave a sheen on the skin if applied to heavily however if applied with a light hand its not as noticeable.

    Now onto colour descriptions

    Colour Description
    Femme Fatale Description - Rebel is a loose mineral based blush. It is a muted thulian pink duochrome shade with violet sparkles. Rebel is a soft and lightweight blush of which the colour can be built up to your liking
    My Description - A Soft pink shade with a slight violet duo-chrome buildable

    Would I repurchase this again? Probably not as I mentioned above on the cheeks I personally have found with my oily skin it doesn't looks as flattering as I would like especially after a few hours when my natural oils manage to peak through. However as a eyeshadow/lip colour it is STUNNING

    Whats you favourite blush colour?

    Xoxo

    Final thoughts: This is a very flattering Pink shade I feel this would work well on most  skin tone, This shade dose have a shimmer effect so it MAY not be great for those with super oily skin. It is build able on the skin and works great as a eye shadow or mixedwith clear gloss for a pretty pout.
