A Review - ELF Cream Liner in Copper

Lets talk liners... in particular affordable cream liners, today we are going to look at ELF Cream liner. I got this baby from ELF.com.au and it cost around $6 AUD for 0.17oz of product. It arrived quickly through Australian Post so I was very pleased about that the liner itself was well packaged it did included a angled liner brush. However I found the brush was too thick in my opinion so I opted to use one of my liner brushes.

In terms of application it applyed smoothly it didnt tug on my lid. The liner was slightly patchy and did required 2 layers to cover up gaps and to make the colour POP. The liner was fairly waterproof I ran the swatch under water and it didnt budge with some gentle scrubbing it did become patchy. As for wear time I was able to get around 6 hrs with no issues.

The colour is a nice  warm bronze I wouldnt call it a 'copper tone' though the red/orange hues of copper were not there as you would see in the swatch below.

My biggest issue with this liner is that it dried out about 3 weeks after I got it! I has that lid screwed on tight as I am totally OCD about screwing those suckers on. I also ALWAY store my liners upside down so they are all stored correctly, anddd yeah it dried out so I was very disapointed about that.

Over all I DONT think I will re-purchase any more of the ELF cream liners as this one dried out so quickly and didnt last a full 8 hrs which is what i look for in products as that is the minimum shift work I do.

Final thoughts: For the price this liner is faily good it DOSE require a couple of layers to make it opaque, The wear time it fairly good I got a good 6 hrs with no wear or 'cracking'. My biggest down side was that even though I stored this correctly (lid tight upside down) this dried out in about 3 weeks and i only used it 4-5 times =/

Today this is a very quick review about one of my new fave colours! Anyone who knows me (and follows me here and on my facebook) would probably have worked out I am obsessed with Greens and Blues! So when Susan of Darling Girl Cosmetics came up with the shade Rich Gurl I KNEW i must be mine!

Full sizes ($5.90 USD each) are packaged in 5g jars with approximately 3/4 tsp of product. Petits ($2.50 USD each) are packaged in 3g jars with approximately 1/4 tsp of product. Samples are packaged in 2x2 zip lock baggies with approximately 1/8 tsp of product. All jars come with a sealed sifter.

With the massive increase in International shipping Susan the owner of Darling Girl Cosmetics came up with a great option for us Int girls there is an additional option for all shadows (minus stardusts) to be placed in baggies making shipping costs a whole lot cheaper.When ordering you can however only choose baggies (meaning you cant add on any lippys, primers etc).

Each DG colour has an individual ingredients list which I love the including whether the shade is lip safe or not below is Rich Gurl's ingredients list.

 

Mica, Carnauba Wax, Titanium Dioxide, Tin Oxide, Silica, Ultramarines, Chromium Oxide Green. NOT Lip Safe.

  

This item was posted well within the stated TAT and arrived via int-post within around 2-3 weeks =) Susan includes in every order a Petit exclusive GWP colour they are always interesting shades =)

 

This shadow is smooth and applies well to the lid for best results I do recommend a sticky base my personal preference is Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy. This shade is extremely sheer on bare skin a coloured base and or sticky base will bring out the true POP of this shade.

 

Colour Description

Darling Girl Description - She is more than meets the eye, at first glance she is a sky blue but mover her towards a light source and she takes on a kind of periwinkle hue and even in some lights (I find artificial light brings the shift out more) she looks almost a bronze-y shade and put her over a black base and POW a vibrant green comes to life!

My Description - A Shimmery periwinkle blue with a kelly green shift.

Final thoughts: This shade is amazing the duo-chrome shift is very strong! the only low point on this shade is that is IS VERY sheer on bare skin I recommend a coloured and/or sticky base to make this shade POP! item recieved well withing the stated TAT.

Beauty Buzz - 2013 Beauty Trends

So with 2013 here the question we are all asking is what are going to be the beauty trends for this year?!?!

According to Harpers Bazaar strong full eye brows are totally in this year which it Fab as they make faces appear youthful. It also means that for younger girls the need to start plucking, waxing etc is put off for a little longer (also for us season vets we can get away with slightly longer salon time)

Neutral nails also seem to be a possibility for a big trend in 2013 so far new nail collection are a lot of neutral/pale/pastel colours a lot of photos I have seen very sheer/neutral colours are present. Try placing a light tan or a pale pink on those cute piggies ;)

Pantone announced their colour of the year  for 2013  and its emerald! I am a HUGE green fan so I was very pleased. Green is SUCH a versatile colour it suits so many skin tones/colours etc. I am very fond of using greens on clients even if its very subtle. A quick way to incorporate green into your day to day look (in a wearable way) if your not like me and happy to slather colour over your face use a green eye liner for a pop of colour or as a lower lash colour.

And Finally onto Lips according to MAC browns of all shades from warm to cool shades, hot pinks and reds are going to be big for 2013 sadly the darker colours are taking a back seat in this years predictions. The choice finish for 2013 is Matte so be well armed with lip scrubs and plenty of lip balm to keep your pouts soft and flake free. Me personally I exfoliate every second night and slather a thick layer of lip balm before bed. I also carry a lip balm with me everywhere I go for touch ups.
A cheep DIY lip scrub is to use equal parts of sugar, honey and olive oil blend well and scrub scrub scrub =)
