Hey Beautiful People
I have a new company to look at today! Today I have 5 of the loose shadows from The  Chequered Lily Cosmetics. I purchased a long time ago from this company and after a long time I  finally took the plunge I purchased a few individual shades and a blogger pack to review. I couldn't decide what shades I wanted to try out so I requested the top sellers.

All my items were sent out well within the stated TAT 5-7 days and arrived on my door step around 2 weeks later good timing for international shipping. The Etsy store is quite easy to navigate my only gripe (and its a small one) is that on the individual listing there is a little TOO much text but like I said that is a minor issue.

The pigment shades themselves are well milled and smooth there were no unwanted lumps or unblended mica's. They applied well onto the lid especially when pressed into a sticky base. I didnt have any really issues with the shades except Black Valentine was slightly chalky to work with it required a little TLC when swatching this is a colour best dabbed on rather then swipped and Peony was a little sheer it required a couple of swipes for the full effect.

Pricing for a full size Jar which hold 1 gram of product is $6.80 AUD and for a set of 10 samples there is no official amount listed but i would estimate to just under 1/4th of a tsp per sample it costs $5.75 AUD. Shipping is on the higher scale of indy however with the recent price increases i do believe this will be base line fee's soon. Each listing has a complete ingredients list and states whether vegan or not along with lip safe/not safe.

A cool little side note The Labyrinth & Cursed Treasure are similar to a couple of MAC pigments Blue Brown and Old Gold not exact dupes mind you but they are similar in my opinion

The big question is would I re-purchase again? Probably not the colours swatched below as I feel I have some dupes already however I am deffinetly planning of ordering more colours from the Chequered Lily Cosmetics.

Credit Rating!

Product: 8/10
Pigmentation: 9/10
Texture: 8/10
Longevity: 7/10
Application: 5/5
Packaging: 5/5

Final thoughts: Most of the colours were well pigmented only some minor issues that were easy to resolve. Pricing is quite reasonable all items were shipped well within the TAT. I wouldnt recommened using these without a primer at minimum I feel these preform better over a sticky base. Shades were well mixed together appled smoothly with limited skipping

Overall Rating:  A

  2. They're really bold, dramatic colours! I usually am quite boring with makeup...I like the peony one; it's soft and sweet.
